Can I still file my prior year taxes?

Taxpayers who have missed filing prior year tax returns can still file!

For whatever reason it is, you should never skip a tax year. You may qualify for credits and deductions you are not aware of and might qualify for a refund for unfiled tax returns. However, you only have three years to claim that refund. You can go back as far as three years to file your taxes and get your money from the IRS. In addition, it is recommended to go back as far as six years to be in “good standing” with the IRS.

 Why should you file NOW?

 1.  Avoid getting in trouble with the tax agencies. Filing taxes is not only a duty but if required to, it is a MUST. You may face civil and even criminal penalties for not filing a tax return, if required to.

2.  Avoid paying additional penalties and interest. The IRS has penalties and interest for not filing a return on time and for not paying on time. The longer you wait, the more you will pay!

3.  Get YOUR REFUND! Don’t wait until you can no longer claim your refund. After 3 years, you will no longer be able to get your money back from the IRS.
